Fourth place Atalanta defeats Benevento 4-1

Genoa climbed out of the relegation zone after a 2-0 win over Bologna while Torino's 2-0 defeat at the hands of AC Milan sees them off on 19th place. Atalanta leapfrogged Juventus after Josip Ilicic stared during the night with a goal and two assists in the 4-1 win over 10th placed Benevento. Ilicic’s goal was impressive with a solo run, dodging three defenders along the way to fire through Kamil Glik's legs to score in half an hour. His long-range shot later hit the post.

Marco Sau later put his side on level while Zapata’s goal was ruled out. Benevento goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipo later could not stop Rafael Toloi from scoring in the 69th minute and two minutes later Ilicic assisted in Zapata’s successful goal. Luis Muriel put an end to the night by pushing in Atalanta’s fourth goal of the night.
