France suffers the absence of Christopher Nkunku during the World Cup

It is a blow for France on the sheer cusp of the World Cup as Christopher Nkunku was stretched during training on Tuesday. After being challenged by Real Madrid's Eduardo Camavinga at the French National Football Centre in Clairefontaine on Tuesday, the 25-year-old suffered a left knee injury and would not be able to play in Qatar.

A statement from the French national team read: "Christopher Nkunku must now concentrate on getting well. "The whole squad wishes him a speedy recovery. "Randal Kolo Muani has been summoned as his replacement." Christopher Nkunku, 25, who is currently on loan at Frankfurt from Eintracht Frankfurt, has been out of action since suffering a left knee injury in October. The blow becomes even tougher when Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante are also missing the finals with injuries.
