Genoa stuns Atalanta with a goalless draw

Genoa choose to be extremely defensive against Atalanta in the Serie A match and shut down every chance of scoring by the team. Atalanta even lost Duvan Zapata to injury and only recently their six-match-winning streak had ended in the home defeat against Roma by 4-1.

Atalanta desperately needed a win to hold onto their fourth spot while Juventus create trouble in the back. Genoa was without Zinho Vanheusden, Felipe Caicedo, Nikola Maksimovic, Mohamed Fares, and Nicolò Rovella for the match but still managed to hold down Atalanta. During the match, Merih Demiral came close to scoring once but his header went over from a Berat Djimsiti cross. Both the teams shared the spoils at the end of the day.
