The Grenada National Under 23 team will leave the state next week to participate in the preliminary round of the Concacaf Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship in the Cayman Islands.
The initial round of qualifying in the Caribbean phase will take place from July 17-21 across four different venues.
The group winners will advance to a final play-in match, with the two winners of each play-in match advancing to the Concacaf Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship.
The winners of the three series, will advance to the Concacaf Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship.
The 16 teams are drawn into four respective groups as follow:
Group A : Jamaica , St.Kitts & Nevis , Guyana ( withdrawn ), Dominica
Group B : Trinidad & Tobago ( withdrawn ) , Barbados , Cuba , USVI
Group C : Haiti , Suriname ( withdrawn ), Grenada , Cayman - Islands
Group D : Antigua & Barbuda , Dominican Republic, St. Lucia , Puerto Rico
In Central America, qualifying will be decided in three individual home-and-away series, with the three series winners advancing to the Concacaf Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship.
Mexico, Canada and the United States are set to participate as the North American representatives.
A 20-man squad will be named to represent Grenada at the Concacaf Olympics Qualifier, the Spice Boyz first match will be on Wednesday July 24, 2019 against the Cayman Islands.
