Hainer: "I was surprised to see Alaba kissing the Madrid crest"

David Alaba decided to put an end to his spell at Bayern. His contract was up and, although the German club made him a renewal offer, the centre-back preferred to try his luck away from there.

Real Madrid opened their arms to him. At his presentation, David Alaba kissed the new crest on his chest.

The image reached Munich. Bayern president Herbert Hainer admitted to 'Bild' that it was a bit of a shock to see the gesture after more than a decade at his club. "The truth is that I was a bit surprised to see Alaba kissing the Madrid crest...," Hainer said.

Beyond Alaba's gesture, the boss focused on Bayern. As he did recently, he ruled out any signings in the final stretch of the transfer window. "We have an excellent squad. We don't have an urgent need to sign," he said.
