Hellas Verona relied on a late goal to salvage a win past Empoli

Hellas Verona walked away with all the three points after a late goal handed them the winner they were searching for in the Serie A matchup. Verona won by 2-1 over Empoli with the help of Adrien Tameze’s injury-time strike at home. The win propels Verona close to Serie A’s top six with just two points gap.

The first half ended goalless with the Liam Henderson hitting the crossbar for visitors to come close to a lead but the hosts answered in the second half with Antonin Barak’s header from Darko Lazovic’s cross and Verona within four minutes of the second half enjoyed their lead. Empoli leveled later with Simone Romagnoli’s goal with 23 minutes left on the clock only to lose later with Tameze’s late goal.
