Hertha Berlin salvaged a draw against VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga Matchday 21. Pellegrino Matarazzo changed a few things after the 5-2 defeat to Leverkusen, Sasa Kalajdzic took Nicolas Gonzalez’s place, Atakan Karazor replaced Marc Oliver Kempf, Borna Sosa was recalled, Erik Thommy was handed his debut while on the bench Roberto Massimo and Mateo Klimowicz were present. With all the changes in their favor, VfB lead the first half with Kalajdzic driving in a header off Sosa’s assist.
In the second half, Hertha made a comeback with Sami Khedira finding Luca Netz in the VfB penalty area to level for Hertha in the 82nd minute making the host settle for one point. VfB was very dominant in the first half and could have scored more than once but lost the opportunity and let the game go in the second half completely.
