Tottenham Hotspur is stepping up their interest in Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni as reports suggest they made fresh contact with the club. Spurs continue their search for a central defender and have landed on Bastoni as their top target but complete with Manchester United for the 23-year-old’s signature. The Nerazzurri player made his official debut for the side in the 2019/20 season and has since evolved into a significant player for the side.
Antonio Conte relied on the player many a time during the Scudetto-winning campaign. In the 2020/21 season, Bastoni made 33 appearances for the side, and later even after Conte’s departure, the Italian international was a key player in Inter’s defence. The two giants have also set their eye on AC Milan’s Sven Botman as plan B should they fail to sign Bastoni.
