How will Barcelona fare during the 2022-23 season?

Barcelona's 2021-22 season began with Ronald Koeman on the bench being sacked at the end of October and Xavi being appointed. A goalless draw at home to Benfica and a loss at Bayern meant Barca dropped into the Europa League, where eventual winners would beat them at Eintracht Frankfurt in the last eight. In La Liga, Xavi's side recovered into the second spot.

Barcelona has got extra money from economic levers, allowing them to sign some terrific players. Star striker Robert Lewandowski from Bayern will bolster their attack. At the same time, Raphinha will give Barca more creativity and pace in midfield, and Sevilla's Jules Kounde will make the Catalans much more solid at the back. Furthermore, they have signed Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen on free while Ousmane Dembele, who has been brilliant since Xavi took over, has renewed at the club.
