Ilkay Gundogan says that changing positions regularly isn't always beneficial.
Away on international duty with Germany, the City midfielder was asked to compare his more rotating role for the Blues to that of being a regular for Hansi Flick's side, as he admitted he would like to have a defined position with the Blues.
Gundogan, 31, has been asked to play as a midfielder, central midfielder, number ten behind a striker or even false nine by Pep Guardiola in the last year or two, while his position is more defined for Germany. That uncertainty, he says, may "not always be beneficial" to a player.
"Based on my experience, I'm relatively comfortable in central midfield in all positions. However, I've noticed that I need a certain rhythm in all the different positions, because each one requires me differently. a certain adjustment period in any case."
