Immobile closing on Higuain all-time record

The Italy international is already on 35 goals going into yesterday’s match against Brescia and has yet one round to make history.

So far, Immobile has achieved the tally of 35 goals in just 36 Serie A appearances, averaging a goal every 88 minutes.

Higuain had actually done better, scoring 36 goals in 35 top flight matches for Napoli in the 2015-16 season.

Pipita also only converted three penalties during that campaign, compared to 14 for Immobile so far.

It’s already close to the previous record, which Milan legend Gunnar Nordahl had held since 1949-50, of 35 goals.

Immobile has already smashed the previous record for an Italian, which had belonged to Luca Toni on 31 goals for Fiorentina in 2005-06.

Cristiano Ronaldo is also in the running for the crown, currently on 31 goals for Juventus.
