The away side made a flying commencement just 20 seconds into the second period after some missed opportunities and a goalless first half for Inter.  Gervinho amazingly got himself in behind the defense. Not only this but he also brilliantly volleyed home Hernani's ball over the top.

The Ivorian twinned their lead just after the hour mark after again getting behind the Inter defense before slotting home. However, the home side straight away reacted through Marcelo Brozovic's twined strike to half the shortage. Nonetheless, Inter's comeback was completed considerably. This is because Perisic took a strong header home from Aleksandar Kolarov's cross to deny the away side a noteworthy victory.
