Italy advances to the semi finals by edging out Belgium

Italy has reached the semi-finals of Euro 2020 after a spectacular show against Belgium winning by 2-1. The first half goals by Nicolo Barella and Lorenzo Insigne had put Italy ahead in the encounter against the number one-ranked team in the world. Barella opened at 31st minute and 13 minutes later Insigne’s curling strike gave Italy a double advantage before halftime.

Belgium answered minutes later with Romelu Lukaku’s first-half stoppage goal as he converted a penalty but Belgium, later on, were no match against Roberto Mancini’s power side who maintain an unbeaten record of 32 matches and stretched their winning run to 13 games. Italy has set up a match against Spain on Tuesday where both the teams would compete for a spot in the final.
