Italy saw their squad shrunk further due to injuries. Match against Liechtenstein kicks off at the Stadio Tardini today at 19.45 GMT.
This is their second Group J match after Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Finland in Udine.
Coach Roberto Mancini already lost Lorenzo Insigne before the squad get-together, then Federico Chiesa and Alessandro Florenzi left with muscular problems.
After the Finland game, Stephan El Shaarawy and Cristiano Piccini have also gone back to their clubs due to injuries.
Mattia Perin remained in the squad, as his slight ankle sprain – apparently caused by stepping on a plastic water bottle – is not thought to be serious.
This means Mancini only had 21 players at his disposal.
Some changes are expected, as Ciro Immobile is likely to be rested, so we could see Moise Kean play in his more habitual centre-forward role, perhaps with Nicolò Zaniolo and Matteo Politano on the wings.
