Euro 2020’s first semifinal saw a thrilling penalty shootout after both the teams drew up 1-1 on Tuesday. Italy then defeated Spain 4-2 on penalties to set up a Euro 2020 final with either England or Denmark. Spain outmatched Italy for most of the first half until Italy found their opener in Federico Chiesa whose fabulous finish put Italy ahead. Spain worked hard later and Alvaro Morata was called up from the bench to level the score 10 minutes to time and Spain faced one more penalty shootout in the tournament, earlier Spain defeated Switzerland in the shootouts and hoped they could repeat their trashing with Italy on the other side.

Slowly Spain lost hope when Dani Olmo and then Morata missed their chances to score. Jorginho then converted a spot-kick and Azzurri qualified for the finals with an unbeaten streak of 33 games.
