This was the rescheduled Week 25 fixture from February, a home 2-1 win against Cagliari which allowed them to move within a point of sixth-placed Napoli.
“It was a very important game, as we must secure our safety as soon as possible. I will admit, my reactions were a bit over the top, as we’d been waiting so long for this match,” Verona's coach Juric told DAZN.
“I also got angry because we were dominating, should’ve scored more than two goals and then had this red card that was completely unfair. All I will say is that the objective for us and the club is to ensure we stay in Serie A. I don’t stop anyone dreaming. I just want to get as many points as possible, that is the objective.”
Samuel Di Carmine scored both goals.
