Juventus and Roma settle for 1-1 draw in a Serie A clash

Despite the Bianconeri taking the lead in the first half, the visitors responded after halftime to earn a crucial point. Juventus was eager to improve on an impressive 3-0 win over Sassuolo on the opening weekend after a disappointing 0-0 draw at Sampdoria the previous weekend. Only two minutes into the game, star scorer Dusan Vlahovic gave Massimiliano Allegri's team an early lead.

Juventus decided to play it safer after missing numerous good opportunities to score in the first half. Allegri dropped his troops back, like he frequently did during the previous season, in an effort to defend a slim lead. A point in Turin was sufficient to keep Roma near the top of the Serie A standings following back-to-back 1-0 victories against Salernitana and Cremonese. Juventus would need to do significantly better if they want to surpass their fourth-place finish from the previous season.
