Newcastle United entered St James’ Park with their head held high after closing out the Saudi Arabia-backed takeover that propels them into a powerful position in Premier League but a defeat puts a damper on their party mode. Tottenham Hotspur made a comeback against Newcastle to enjoy a 3-2 win.
Callum Wilson started of well handing Newcastle a lead in just two minutes but the team could not follow up the momentum while Tottenham took advantaged and build a good lead in the first half itself with Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Kane scoring five minutes apart from each other. A medical emergency then saw the match suspended early for a brief while but Hotspurs picked up right where they left off and Son Heung-min doubled the lead with a goal. Eric Dier almost cost his side a heartbreak with an own goal but Spurs kept it together for the three points.
