Kompany on Bayern's thrashing 8-1 over Wolfsburg

Kompany said: "It is not normal or obvious, and I have said this many times, but it is the truth and should not be forgotten. The first half was not easy at all, and I had previously warned about Wolfsburg's attacking strength."

He continued: "Nevertheless, I always had a feeling that we were close to imposing our control, and that more chances would come when the opponent started to feel tired, and that is exactly what happened in the second half."

He added: "What I like most are those moments when the score is 5-1 or 6-1 or 7-1, and yet we continue to press and keep trying to score more goals."

He went on: "There is also this important mix within the team, where young players get their chance to show their potential, and at the same time we do not lose Bayern Munich's identity and character on the pitch."
