Juventus midfielder Filip Kostic has been ruled out of Serbia's Euro 2024 match against Montenegro due to an Achilles tendon injury.
The 30-year-old played a key role in Friday's 2-0 win over Lithuania and set up Dusan Tadic's first goal.
But Kostic was unavailable against Montenegro at the Podgorica City Stadium, having returned to the club for treatment.
"It's bad news for us," said Serbia coach Dragan Stojkovic at Sunday's pre-match press conference. "He left the club because he has Achilles tendinitis.
"There's no need to take any chances with him. The decision was made to come back to the club. I always regret it when a player is injured – there's nothing worse for a coach."
