La Liga and Spanish FA talks to scrap Friday, Monday night games

La Liga is considering scrapping matches on a Friday night and a Monday night as part of negotiations with the Spanish FA, said Diario Sport.

The two organisations have long-running disputes over a number of administrational issues, with league chief Javier Tebas keen on spreading matches out across the weekend for television purposes.

However, games in these two timeslots have proven hugely unpopular with Spanish football fans with supporters of Rayo Vallecano and Alavés among those staging protests against the timings.

The move would take affect from next season onwards while it is part of an agreement between the two organisations focused on how top-level Spanish football should be structured.
