La Liga confident judge will rule in favour of US game

Villarreal, Atletico Madrid and La Liga have formally requested their December league game be played in Miami, while a similar request was made last year for Girona’s tie at home to Barcelona.

Villarreal confirmed the news via a statement last month, following on from a report in Diario AS which highlighted that the presidents of both clubs said to be among the closest to La Liga chief Tebas.

Last year, Barcelona decided not to continue with the issue,” Tebas said, as cited by Diario AS.

“Day 14 will be the hearing and we trust that the judge will give us the reason to play in Miami. I don't know where the Supercopa is going to be played, it's going to be played on another side of the world. Why are we not going to be able to play a league game in the United States? Same as NBA or NFL".
