La Liga: Elche snaps Espanyol's unbeaten run at home

Elche finished Espanyol's seven-game unbeaten streak at home with a 2-1 win in La Liga on Monday. Pere Milla scored two times in the initial 15 minutes to give Elche the success and lift the group out of the transfer zone. Espanyol then saw Raúl de Tomás score once in the first-half stoppage time as the team ended their record of six wins and a draw at home.

Elche was winless in its last three association matches. They hadn't won in their last eight away games in the tournament. Espanyol, back in the first-class competition following a season in the subsequent division, remained in the eleventh spot and Elche is two points clear of the relegation zone. Currently, Real Madrid tops the table in the Spanish league by five points from second-placed Sevilla, which enjoys a game advantage.
