This victory marks the fourth triumph in five matches for the club from Pamplona, the same metric as Barcelona and Real Betis. It helps them climb the ladder up to 12 points and fourth in the standings. They are just two points behind league leaders and defending champions Real Madrid, who holds five wins in their dolly.

It was the second consecutive defeat for Almeria, and third overall. The Saudi-owned club is back in the first division after a seven-year non-attendance and is currently seated at 14th in the 20-team competition.
