The Estadio Wanda Metropolitano opened its doors as Los Rojiblancos held an open training session to begin the year, ahead of their return to LaLiga action.
Although he was not one of the Atletico Madrid players to train at the Wanda Metropolitano in front of more than 10,000 fans, Diego Costa has started his recovery with the club's physiotherapists.
The striker, who was operated on in December, is back to work in Madrid as he starts the first phase of his return from a metatarsal injury.
Other than Costa, Lucas Hernandez and Filipe Luis were the only other absentees at Wednesday's training session.
The forward is already aiming to return for the Champions League tie with Juventus in February.
