Lautaro Martinez agrees on a new deal with Inter

Tottenham Hotspur's hopes of signing Inter forward Lautaro Martinez have all but vanished, with the Argentine striker close to signing a new contract with the Nerazzurri. Spurs made a €70 million bid for the 24-year-old earlier in the summer transfer window, looking for a possible successor for forwarding Harry Kane, who was linked with a move to Manchester City at the time.

Martinez, however, turned down the chance to move to north London, citing that he preferred to stay with Inter. And Nerazzurri fans will be pleased to learn that the Argentine has agreed to a new contract in Milano, which will be signed and publicized soon. Martinez, despite Spurs' €70 million proposals, has never expressed interest in a move. Due to Inter's terrible financial situation, they were forced to evaluate the offer, but the player refused to move, ultimately destroying the Premier League club's hopes of a deal.
