Lazio’s mistake turned heavy as Verona took the lead

The Serie A match resulted in Hellas Verona running away with the match with 2-1 as Lazio dug themselves into a hole. An own goal by Manuel Lazzari in the 45th minute gave Hellas Verona an early lead later Felipe Caicedo canceled out the lead in the 56th minute making up for the mistake until Lazio later gifted Adrien Tameze a goal on a silver platter in the 67th minute which ensured Hellas Verona’s win. Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi also expressed his regret over the errors made by Lazio which essentially gift-wrapped the game to Verona.

A lot was being expected by Lazio who made it to the knockout stage in the Champions League after a gap of 20 years but they perished in the Serie A match for the first time to Verona since 2013. Lazio is now placed 8th on the table and Verona is two places up.
