Leeds United’s match with Newcastle was scheduled after a 10-day break before their 1-0 loss to Brighton. While they regrouped and healed to work on their strategy before taking on Newcastle might have worked with them winning 2-1 at the St. James Park, they lost Diego Llorente again to an injury.
The time off helped Kalvin Phillips, Illan Meslier, and Diego Llorente to heal and join the team for good, Llorente played for just about 8 minutes before leaving the field due to a similar muscle injury. The last time two senior centre-backs played for Leeds was when they clashed with Chelsea in December. Leeds would now have to rely on Pascal Struijk till the time the player is fit to join for good. Costing the club £17million Llorente is yet to play and show off his skills.
