In his farewell game for Leicester City, Jamie Vardy scored his 200th goal to help the team defeat Ipswich Town 2-0 in the Premier League. Vardy was hailed before kickoff on Sunday, the thirteenth anniversary that he signed with Leicester. However, Ipswich threatened an early shock as Leif Davis struck the post seven minutes into the game. But to the joy of the King Power Stadium, Vardy scored his historic goal 28 minutes into his 500th game for the team, capping up James Justin's incredible raiding run.
Just after the hour, George Hirst forced Jakub Stolarczyk into a fantastic save as Ipswich sought for an equaliser. However, minutes after hitting the post, Kasey McAteer bent his effort into the bottom corner to secure the points in the 69th minute, his first Premier League goal.
