Levante went past against Real Sociedad scoring a late goal

Levante secured a 90th-minute penalty which helped their side to defeat Real Sociedad 2-1. The penalty was converted by Gonzalo Melero, keeping their hopes alive for escaping the relegation from the Spanish league. With the win secured by Levante on Friday, they are now lifted from the last place, leaving Valencia club three points from safety ahead of the upcoming matches over the weekend.

After the loss, Sociedad’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League seem less as they stayed in sixth place, five points behind Atletico Madrid who stand at the fourth and final place for qualification. This has become the fourth consecutive winless game for the Basque Country club. Jorge Miramon opened the scoring for Levante in the 53rd minute while David Silva went to equalize the goal for Sociedad in the 66th minute.
