Barcelona is hoping to add more depth to their goalkeeping department and is keenly looking at Levante’s Aitor Fernandez for the job in the ongoing summer transfer window. The 30-year-old Levante’s player could be a potential target for Barcelona as they hunt for a replacement for their second-choice goalkeeper Neto. Fernandez was hoping for a first-team appearance after moving from Bilbao to the Basque outfit, before he moved to Villarreal, he thought could only secure a Team B move and spent two years with Numancia. After moving to Levante in 2018 his performance saw a visible improvement.
In his 88 outings for Levante, he has kept 11 clean sheets and enjoyed the league-high 158 saves in the 2019/20 campaign, his success rate stood at an impressive 76%. But with Dani Cardenas in the lineup, his game time saw a great decline, and has since expressed his desire to move.
