Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski achieved a couple of milestones as his side cruised to an emphatic 5-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.
The Polish forward's double in the encounter took his career goal tally in the Bundesliga to 195, making him the joint-highest-scoring non-German players in the league's history alongside Werder Bremen's Claudio Pizarro.
Lewandowski's first major contribution in the game was to prevent the host from staging an unlikely comeback after Lars Stindl had canceled one of two goals scored earlier by Javi Martinez and Thomas Muller. Serge Gnabry subsequently grabbed Bayern's fourth of the game before Lewandowski buried a spot-kick in added time.
The 30-year-old striker also moved up to third on Bayern Munich's all-time top goalscorers' list in the competition.
The legendary Gerd Muller and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge now remain the only two players in Bayern's history to have managed more than the Polish striker.
