Ligue 1: Marseille defeated Angers 3-0

Jonathan Clauss struck a goal and helped with two assists to lead Marseille to step ahead in the French league by defeating Angers 3-0 on Friday. Marseille remains unconquered to surpass Paris Saint-Germain by one point, however, the defending champion is still capable of taking the top place back when it marches against Nice on Saturday.

“The squad lives very well together. We all stick together,” Marseille midfielder Jordan Veretout stated in defying Marseille’s powerful beginning of the season. "All the players are very important, whether it’s the 11 who start or the bench. We are a team showing solidarity, that’s what makes us strong this season.”

Clauss leveled with Angers right after Yan Valery to shoot home a properly planned strike off the near post in the 35th minute.
