Paris Saint-Germain extended their Ligue 1 championship defense with a 3-1 victory over Saint-Etienne, despite having to come back from a 1-0 deficit. Denis Bouanga stunned the Parc des Princes early on when he blasted a low attempt past Gianluigi Donnarumma after Danilo Pereira had given the ball away. PSG, on the other hand, soon regained their poise and proceeded to swat their opponents away.
Lionel Messi put up Kylian Mbappe for PSG's first two goals, one before halftime and the other after the break. The first occurred when Messi found his strike partner with a usual superb ball before firing past Paul Bernardoni, who could have done better. After passing through the locker rooms, Messi set up Mbappe once more, with the striker leaving Bernardoni no chance to make the save this time. Mbappe then switched roles, setting up Danilo for PSG's third goal with an outside-of-the-boot ball, making up for his previous error.
