Lille Climbs closer to PSG after beating Monaco

Lille now reports 26 points from their 13 games and climb ahead of Olympique Lyonnais on the basis of goal difference while they stand third on the table after beating Metz by 3-1. As for Monaco who was on their way to sealing the fifth consecutive win managed to net just once during the match with the help of Pietro Pellegri are now placed fifth on the table with 23 points to support their cause after losing 2-1 to Lille.

The first half was not eventful at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium where both the teams failed to create opportunities but picked up the momentum in the second half when Jonathan David scored in the 53rd minute and pushed the ball past Vito Mannone.
