Lille was held back by a 10-men Lyon

Lille missed its opportunity to close in on leaders Paris St Germain at the top of Ligue 1 as the home match ended in a draw for them at 1-1 against Olympique Lyonnais. Jonathan Bamba’s opener goal was leveled by Mehmet Zeki Celik’s own goal even before the break. And the second half did not change matters in favor of Lille even when Marcelo was sent off at the 50th minute and 10 men team of Lyon proved too heavy for Lille. Lille now stands at second place with 19 points with a two-point gap between them and PSG and Lyon are placed sixth with 14 points. In other matches at Ligue 1 Monaco moved to eighth place with a 4-0 home win against Girondins de Bordeaux, Nice is placed fourth after a 3-0 win over Angers, Montpellier won 1-0 against Saint-Etienne with a goal from S Mavididi.  Lorient and Dijon FCO match ended in a goalless draw, Metz beat Nimes 1-0 with an early goal by Gueye. Strasbourg was defeated 1-2 by Stade de Reims.
