World football has been trying to answer a question that seems to have no answer: Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo? The two players have shared the spotlight in recent years and divided opinion.
On Monday, here's Arsène Wenger's response. The former Arsenal manager was confronted with the issue on the sidelines of The Best gala and stood by his opinion.
"When we don't have them on the field we will never realize what they have given us for years, both one and the other. I will always refuse to establish a hierarchy between the two because they are two very different players. They are different, but exceptional players who have shown to the world for 15 years how great football can be," he said, quoted by TalkSport.
Lionel Messi ended up taking The Best award. Cristiano Ronaldo was out of the discussion for the second year in a row.
