Lionel Messi scored his first goal in Ligue 1

With a late rally to overcome Nantes, Lionel Messi scored his first goal in Ligue 1 as Paris St-Germain surged 13 points clear at the top 3-1. Three minutes from time, Messi curled home a left-footed goal from 20 yards.PSG took an early lead thanks to Kylian Mbappe, but the hosts were relegated to ten men after goalkeeper Keylor Navas sprinted out of his box to foul Ludovic Blas. 

Les Parisiens' victory was their 12th in 14 league games, and it appeared to be a foregone conclusion when they dominated the first half, boosted by Mbappe's second-minute opening. Albon Lafont, though, kept Nantes in the game with a string of saves to deny Messi and Neymar until his opposite number, Navas, was sent off for a reckless rush of blood. His successor Sergio Rico, who had been substituted for Neymar, made a fine save from Muani's header but was unable to save the Nantes forward's improvised rebound.
