Liverpool keeper Alisson steps up recovery from calf injury

The Brazil international has not featured for the Reds since being forced off 41 minutes into the 4-1 season-opening win against Norwich City at Anfield on August 9.

It was revealed afterwards that he had suffered a calf injury with boss Jurgen Klopp estimating that he would be absent for between four to six weeks.

Alisson has now been out for a month and looks poised to step up his bid for a first-team comeback.

Liverpool have won all four games Alisson has missed to date with summer signing Adrian stepping in to fill the void.

But the Spanish custodian has had a couple of erratic moments in those matches and news of Alisson’s imminent comeback will be music to the ears of the fans.
