Liverpool wants to hit Barça where it hurts

According to reports in England, Liverpool has other plans. Michael Edwards, 'The Reds' sporting director is trying to sign the French star for free next summer.

Laporta and the rest of Barcelona's board are working non-stop to extend Ousmane Dembele's contract. Barcelona is in a hurry to extend the Frenchman's contract before the 1st January. The club knows that by that date, the World Cup winner can start negotiating with any club, and that is exactly what Barcelona wants to avoid.

The first club to show interest in Dembele's opportunity is, according to 'The Mirror', Liverpool. 'The Reds' are paying attention to the forward's situation.

If Dembele signs a new contract with the Spanish side, he would have to accept a salary reduction like the rest of the squad due to Barça's delicate financial situation.
