Luis Saurez’s tribute to Lionel Messi

Luis Suarez is the latest celebrity to pay tribute to Lionel Messi following the revelation that he will not be playing football for Barcelona next season. Saurez was among many stars that showed gratitude to Messi.  Messi has been a free agent since the end of June, when his last contract with Barcelona expired, however, both the club and the player were under the belief he would wait until permission was granted for him to sign a new contract.

 Messi technically fell under the category of new signings because he was signing a new contract and thus was unable to extend his time at Camp Nou. Barcelona has since stated Messi wanted to stay, but cited "economic and structural constraints," alluding to La Liga's pay limit, as the cause for his departure.
