Magpies bid £28million for a Brazilian star

The Premier League side, Newcastle United has bid around £28 million for the Sevilla defender Diego Carlos. Magpies are busy fighting to stay in the season after being involved in a relegation battle for the first half of the season. Newcastle has already signed Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid, as well as Chris Wood from relegation strugglers Burnley in the January window with a £25 million deal with Burnley.

Now Eddie Howe’s side set their sight on the Brazilian Sevilla player, the team already saw their £25 million bid being rejected by the Spanish side as they hope to land a bigger bid for their star defender. The 28-year-old is one of the key players in Sevilla’s squad and has been pivotal in their second-place run in the La Liga standings this season. In the 19 appearances, he has made he had even scored twice for Sevilla, such a talented centre-back would bolster Newcastle’s squad after the team won just one league win in 19 games.
