Mallorca and Elche settle for a 1-1 draw

Elche is now the only team without a victory in La Liga after Mallorca's equalizer in the second half forced them to lose their eighth straight match. Their hopes were boosted when Vedat Muriqi converted a penalty kick to tie the score for Mallorca midway through the second half after Ezequiel Ponce gave them the lead with a header in the 15th minute. After halftime, players from both sides were dismissed. Elche's Lucas Boye was denied in the 61st minute, barely four minutes after replacing another player.

After scoring 15 minutes earlier, Mallorca's Muriqi was dismissed just before the final siren in a game that was delayed by 30 minutes due to torrential rain. Elche, now last in the league, drew for the second time in eight games after losing their previous five straight. Mallorca continues to rank 12th.
