Red Devils and Tottenham will battle Newcastle while they race to sign Atletico’s Kieran Trippier. The defender has been on the radar of Man Utd for a while now as Atletico is gearing up to let go of the right-back in the January transfer window. The teams would need to meet Trippier’s £50m contract release clause first.
As per the reports, Trippier is ready to return to Premier League after he made the move to Atletico in a £20m deal from Spurs in 2019, and ever since Newcastle received the cash infusion they have been determined to make the player club’s highest-ever earner with £150,000-per-week deal. This season he has made 14 appearances in the Spanish top flight and played thrice in the Champions League but hasn't yet scored at Los Rojiblancos.
