Man Utd insist on putting new offer in for Akanji

Manuel Akanji's name has been linked with Old Trafford for some time. Man Utd, now knocked out of the Champions League, are thinking about planning for next season and the Borussia Dortmund player could form part of the reinforcements in defence.

According to 'Bild', the English club will offer the central defender a contract for 240.000 pounds (285.000 euros) a week. That is almost double what he gets at Dortmund which is around 154,000 euros a week.

The 26 year-old footballer still has 18 months left on his current contract and his future in the Bundesliga is uncertain due to the fact talks over his new contract have still not progressed.

In addition, the media outlet says that the German side will not get in the way if the player wants to leave this summer and they are open to listening to offer for a price of around 25 millions.
