Manchester City advances to the Champions League Quarters round

Pep Guardiola’s side has advanced to the next round of Champions League despite being held back by Sporting Lisbon on Wednesday in a goalless draw. In the first leg, City had placed one foot in the Quarterfinal stage with the 5-0 thrashing of Sporting Lisbon and even after the disappointing draw in the second half, they qualify with a 5-0 aggregate.

The English champions’ hard work in the Portuguese capital was rewarded early and without conceding a single goal City moves ahead to the next round. Manchester City is on track for their fourth Premier League title in five seasons and after their runner-up performance last season in the Champions League, fans have huge expectations from the club. Guardiola has one task ahead of him which would set his legacy at the club, that is the champions of Europe crown and he believes they can achieve that this season.
