Phil Foden's first-half goal gave Manchester City a well-earned 1-0 victory against Bournemouth on Saturday, moving them one point behind Premier League leaders Liverpool. In the 24th minute, Foden scored a close-range goal against a fierce Bournemouth, and it was enough for Pep Guardiola's team, who were far from at their best, to win all three points from the game. After the half, the hosts did give their all trying to tie the score when Marcus Tavernier missed two good chances in short succession and Enes Unal headed narrowly wide with a header right at the end.
Despite lacking their typical fluidity, Guardiola's team managed to extend their league winning streak to 11 games with a second straight 1-0 triumph, after their victory against Brentford in the middle of the week. After recovering from an injury, Erling Haaland still didn't seem to be at his best. He lost an early chance when he missed the kind of shot he typically takes.
