Third-tier Burton Albion had done incredibly well to reach the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, but they were no match for a merciless Manchester City side as they lost 9-0.
Gabriel Jesus netted four times, but it was De Bruyne who opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a header, and after 25 minutes the first from Gabriel Jesus.
After that, though, the floodgates had opened. Another goal from the Brazilian and from Zinchenko put the home side 4-0 up at the break.
Jesus added a header in the 57th minute to complete his hat-trick, before he got a fourth.
The fun wasn't over and there was still time for Walker and Mahrez to put the ball in the net for an eighth and ninth time.
There is still a second leg to come at Eton Park on January 23.
