Manchester United held back back by Atletico Madrid

Manchester United had an easy opportunity to place one foot in the Champions League quarter-finals round when they faced struggling Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Last 16 stage. Unfortunately for the United fans, the team escaped the Spanish capital with a 1-1 draw instead. The Premier League side had a tough time against the La Liga champions who enjoyed an upper hand for the most part of the match when Joao Felix scored in the 7th minute.

Red Devils kept their fighting face on in the second half and were finally awarded an equalizer when Anthony Elanga rescued the team from an embarrassing defeat before they take the fight to the second leg at Old Trafford on March 15. United aims to end their five-year drought of winning any major trophy but they are still not among the favorites as Manchester City, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and defending champions Chelsea enjoy a more commanding presence in the title fight.
