Marc Cucurella rejected Premier League move

Cucurella, 20, spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Eibar, with the Basque club opting to take up their  €2m purchase option on him at the end of the campaign.

In a bizarre turn of events, the La Liga champions invoked that clause less than a month after the Spanish U20 international returned to the Estadio Ipurua Municipal, before immediately loaning him to Getafe for the season.

Jose Bordalas' side now have a €6m purchase option on the left back, with FC Barcelona retaining 40% of any future sell on fee.

However, according to reports in Marca, Sean Dyche's Burnley had a €12m bid accepted by the Catalan side, with a higher wage on offer than at Bordalas' Europa League qualifiers.

Cucurella rejected the chance to move to England, preferring instead to play in Europe and under Bordalas, who he described as the key motivator behind his move to Madrid.
